Unlike other shredders which merely cut pieces of papers into strips, the Powershred P70CM cross-cuts up to seven sheets into 5/32 x 1 7/8- inch confetti making it impossible to reassemble and read the papers' contents. Shredding is quick with the machine processing up to 80 pieces of paper in approximately one minute.
The entry slot for papers has a width of 9 inches, which is half an inch wider than letter and legal-sized documents. Thus, even if you fed the paper slightly aslant, it will still go through the blade cutters. These cutters are made of durable steel. They can just as easily slice through papers as ATM and credit cards, and even staple wires.
The resulting confetti from the cutters fall into a mesh wastebasket that has a capacity of 4.5 gallons. This design has the advantage of immediately showing you when it needs to be emptied.
