The Powershred MS-450Ci is loaded with features and technologies that make safeguarding the confidentiality of your papers efficient and effective. It is an ultra quiet machine that performs its job without disturbing the person in the office cubicle next to yours. It boasts of a Jam Proof System that completely eliminates paper jams thus reducing downtimes. To keep it safe to run, it incorporates the registered SafeSense technology that switches off the blades the moment it detects the presence of human hands around the paper insertion slot.
The slot is 9 inches wide, easily accommodating standard 8½ -inch wide letters and legal documents. You can shred seven pieces of these, including standard staple wires you may have forgotten to remove, in a single pass. In addition to the paper entry slot, there is a second slot for credit cards, CDs and DVDs. Papers are shredded at a rate of 11 feet per minute. You will need, however, to take a fifteen-minute break after running the machine from eight to ten minutes to allow it to cool down.
Cut paper fall into a wastebasket with a capacity of 4.8 gallons, while shredded CDs and credit cards go into a smaller basket inside it in order not to mix the two together. There is a slim vertical window in front of the basket allowing you to see if it is full and needs to be emptied.
