With your important letters, documents, and records cut up into such small pieces, not even the most patient and resolute identity thief will attempt to reassemble them to steal your personal data.
The shredder is equipped with strong and sharp blades that can cut through 11 sheets of paper at a time. Its powerful motor, for its part, cycles the blades quickly that the machine can process 16 feet of paper in one minute. This means that a letter which is usually written on an 8½ x 11-inch stationery can be minced in a mere 35 seconds. Legal-sized documents take a little longer at 45 seconds.
In addition to sheets of paper, the blades can also handle credit cards, ATM cards, card-type or laminated identification cards, and even staple wires.
The Fellowes 3103201 Powershred W-11C Shredder features and electronic auto start and stop function. This means that the machine is automatically activated by simply introducing sheets of paper or plastic cards into the 9-inch wide entry slot, and after the sheets of paper have passed through the blades, it also automatically shuts down.
Shredded materials are deposited into a plastic bin that has a capacity of 5.5 gallons. In case of over-feeding of papers, you can flip the switch to the reverse function to get the machine to eject them.
The shredder is incorporated into the machine's lid. This can be lifted off completely from the wastebasket for emptying. As a safety measure, an interlock switch automatically turns the shredder off if the lid is lifted.
With the combination of the silver lid and black basket, the shredder is more than just a functional tool to keep in your home or office. It can actually look attractive. It stands 18 inches, with a width of 13.5 and depth of 8.5, also in inches.
